MVNO-platform
In 2002 Telexis was involved in the development of a telecom service for O2 Netherland (now KPN). This telecom operator provided its wholesale customers with a complete network environment allowing the wholesalers to operate as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator without actually owning the physical network. (Hence the 'Virtual' in 'MVNO').
Telexis developed and implemented this custom build solution in 9 months. In addition, a complete new system gateway was developed allowing access to the O2 network domain allowing the support for all connected ESPs (enhanced Service Providers).
In 2003, O2 split from its parent company and continued in the Netherlands under the brand name 'KPN'. Telexis developed and implemented a complete new system for this new company and since that time Telexis hosts and manages this 'ESP Gateway' for KPN (taken over by KPN in 2005).
The current ESP Gateway supports key processes such as order management, provisioning, rating and billing. The system supports the addition and/or removal of subscribers as well as number provisioning. By applying rate plans and price plans to the rating engine and to rate the incoming usage the customer is able to provide its wholesale customers with monthly wholesale invoices.
Currently, the ESP gateway processes in excess of 70 million transactions on a monthly basis and uses an ASP model where servers are hosted by Telexis who also provides the day-to-day support for KPN.
